MyHEAT Data

The HEAT Maps and HEAT Ratings (collectively referred to as the “MyHEAT data”) provided on our platform serves to enhance your viewing experience by helping you visualize the amount and location of invisible waste heat leaving your home. At MyHEAT, we go through great lengths to ensure that the MyHEAT data is accurate, helpful, and beneficial to users.

Sources of Imagery

Thermal imagery is collected using a thermal sensor attached to the bottom of an airplane. We only collect mid-wave thermal infrared energy (3-5 µm) emitted from the surface of the features (i.e., houses, roads, vegetation) composing the scene at the acquisition time.

We cannot identify any contents within the home. Additionally, we do not collect or publicly disclose any household-specific data regarding the number of occupants, age, gender, race, or income unless voluntarily provided by the user. Furthermore, this imagery is not collected in real-time.

Where Imagery Appears

Unless otherwise stated, all content that is published on the MyHEAT platform is public. The MyHEAT data may also appear on official websites of partner organizations and social or print media for marketing or educational purposes. If you wish to remove your home from the MyHEAT platform, please contact us, and it will be removed within 1-5 business days.

MyHEAT may work with partner organizations to offer MyHEAT data directly to customers on a confidential basis through a password-protected platform, print media, or on the partner organization’s authorized website for marketing or educational purposes.
